Cornelia Andrecut is Executive Director of Children’s Services for North Northamptonshire, with statutory responsibility for children’s services across the area. She brings more than 30 years of experience spanning nursing, social work, education, sector-led improvement and executive leadership across local government and children’s trust environments.

Beginning her career as a registered nurse before qualifying as a social worker, Cornelia has built a distinguished career leading service improvement, organisational transformation and system-wide change. She is recognised for her ability to lead through complexity, strengthen practice and drive sustainable improvements that deliver better outcomes for children, young people and families.

Cornelia has a longstanding connection with Northamptonshire, first joining in 2018 as an Improvement Partner and subsequently taking on senior leadership roles within Northamptonshire Children’s Trust and then North Northamptonshire Council. She played a key role in leading the improvement and transformation of children’s services through a period of significant organisational change, helping to create a strong values-led culture, strengthen leadership and workforce stability, and deliver sustainable improvements for children, young people and families.

As Executive Director, she is focused on creating a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative children’s services system, underpinned by strong partnerships, a stable and empowered workforce, and a culture of continuous improvement. Her leadership is guided by a commitment to compassion, equity and excellence, ensuring children and families remain at the heart of everything she does.
